Balboa took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They claimed a resounding 73-43 victory over the O'Connell Boilermakers. The win continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Boilermakers: they've now won three in a row.

Alan Ly went supernova, going 11-for-20 on his way to 26 points along with seven boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Lorenzo Manna, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds.

Balboa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Balboa has already played their next matchup, a 47-43 loss against Jefferson on the 25th. As for O'Connell, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wallenberg at 6:30 p.m. on the 5th.
