Recap: Fairfax Lions vs. South County Stallions
While it was all tied up 31-31 at halftime, the Fairfax Lions were not quite the South County Stallions's equal in the second half on Friday. Fairfax fell just short of South County by a score of 63-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Fairfax has suffered against South County since February 7, 2020.
Fairfax lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cameron Love, who scored 23 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Ronier Peters was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Fairfax struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Fairfax's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for South County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfax will take on Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Robinson has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28. As for South County, they will be playing at home against West Springfield at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. West Springfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 266th, while South County is ranked 79th).
