Basketball Recap: Alexys Neckers leads Clymer Central to victory over Sherman

Basketball Recap: Clymer Central Pirates vs. Sherman Wildcats

Even though the Clymer Central Pirates have not done well against the Sherman Wildcats recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Clymer Central sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 victory over the Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Clymer Central.

It was another big night for Alexys Neckers, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Clymer Central's points. Ava Nyweide was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.

Clymer Central is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Sherman, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Clymer Central will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Panama will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 457th, while the Pirates are ranked 185th). Sherman will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. on February 12th.
