Recap: Earlville Red Raiders vs. Westminster Christian Warriors

The Earlville Red Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell just short of Westminster Christian by a score of 45-43.
Several Red Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nevaeh Sansone, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Sansone scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madyson Olson, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Earlville dropped their record down to 5-23 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.2 points per game. As for Westminster Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-18 record this season.
Earlville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Amboy at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Amboy's defense has only allowed 29.3 points per game this season, so Earlville's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Westminster Christian, they will head out on the road to take on College Prep of America at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully College Prep of America focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Thursday.
