Volleyball Recap: Royal Palm Beach Comes Up Short on the Road Against Somerset Academy - Canyons

Royal Palm Beach had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 3-1 to the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars on Wednesday. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Royal Palm Beach had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18, 20-25, 25-23.

Somerset Academy - Canyons got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gemma Murry out in front who had 18 kills and five blocks. Avery Wood was another key player, getting 16 kills and two aces.

Looking ahead, Royal Palm Beach will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Palm Beach Gardens at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, they will challenge Olympic Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
