Green Valley and Silverado are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. The Gators will head out on the road to take on the Skyhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Green Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Durango, who was ranked 20th at the time (Green Valley was ranked 13th). The Gators lost 3-0 to the Trailblazers on Thursday. The Gators' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Silverado didn't have quite enough to beat Village Christian on Saturday and fell 2-1.

Green Valley will have to contain Xalia King as she made an impact in Silverado's last game. She had eight digs and five assists.

Green Valley's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Silverado, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's matchup: Green Valley has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Silverado struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Green Valley took their win against Silverado when the teams last played back in August by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
