Baseball Recap: Deering Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Deering, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Windham Eagles on Saturday. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Tavian Lauture was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Miles Lawrence, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Bechard, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Deering's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Windham, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
