Walker and Denham Springs are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Walker will be strutting in after a win while Denham Springs will be coming in after a defeat.

Walker is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Dutchtown, who was ranked 15th at the time (Walker was ranked 19th). The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Griffins 7-6.

Meanwhile, Denham Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-1 to Dutchtown, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Walker has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Denham Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-8-1.

Walker beat Denham Springs 7-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
