Basketball Recap: Beachwood Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Beachwood can now relate to. They were beaten by the Chippewa Chipps 57-27 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bison have suffered since January 13th.

Beachwood lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Goldi Aschkenasy, who posted five points in addition to seven rebounds and six blocks. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 17 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zo? Walters, who had 13 points and six boards.

Beachwood's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Chippewa, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-8.

Beachwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chippewa, they will head out to square off against Lake Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chippewa knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Lake Catholic likes a good challenge.
