Basketball Recap: Oberlin Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Oberlin had won two straight home games and Josiah Bowen-Pride did his part to make it three on Tuesday. The Oberlin The Phoenix came out on top against the Valley Forge Patriots by a score of 61-53 thanks in part to Bowen-Pride, who went 6 of 8 en route to 15 points along with eight boards and three steals. What's more, he also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Korrie Freeman was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Oberlin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Valley Forge, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Oberlin and Valley Forge could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Oberlin (ranked 664th) will meet Keystone (ranked 215th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Valley Forge will square off against Rocky River at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 459 places (678 vs. 219).
