Softball Recap: Willows Honkers vs. Winters Warriors

Willows had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-20 to make it four. They lost 17-5 to the Winters Warriors. The Honkers were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Willows saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ady Hurlburt, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Mia Medina was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

As for Winters, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Winters' side, Erika Garcia was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Garcia has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Nelson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

While Willows had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
