Baseball Recap: Pennsville Memorial Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Pennsville Memorial was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Williamstown on Monday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Cohen Petrutz was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Pennsville Memorial's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Chase Burchfield was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs.

Pennsville Memorial pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Williamstown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Coming up, Pennsville Memorial will square off against Penns Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.67 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Williamstown, they will face off against Triton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
