Christian Brothers barely beat Kickapoo the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cadets put the hurt on the Chiefs with a sharp 7-1 victory on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cadets also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Kickapoo's batters probably weren't too happy with Grant Mehrhoff, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up four walks). Mehrhoff has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kale Price, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Ryan Horne was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Christian Brothers is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kickapoo, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.

Looking ahead, Christian Brothers will square off against Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kickapoo, they will take on Nixa at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
