Recap: Richland Royals vs. Barbers Hill Eagles

The Richland Royals extended their postseason success on Friday against the Barbers Hill Eagles. They pulled ahead with a 48-47 photo finish over the Eagles. Richland's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Michael Turner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 292 yards and four touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown. Turner hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games. Drew Kates was another key contributor, rushing for 24 yards and a touchdown.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kody Fuentes, who threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Brady Thompson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.

Richland pushed their record up to 12-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Barbers Hill, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.

Richland will take on Forney at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Forney's defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so Richland's offense will have their work cut out for Richland. Barbers Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
