Softball Recap: Edinburgh Finds Home Field Redemption Against Mooresville Christian

Edinburgh's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Hauser on Tuesday. The Lancers never let the Mooresville Christian Eagles get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. Considering the Lancers have won three contests by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chole Hancock and Kenna Streeval made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Hancock struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Streeval pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Hancock scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Streeval went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Shyla Watt was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Gracie Barrett was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Edinburgh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Edinburgh now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Mooresville Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edinburgh will face off against South Decatur at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Mooresville Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Traders Point Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
