Softball Recap: Clark Finds Home Field Redemption Against SA Roosevelt

There's no place like home for Clark, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the SA Roosevelt Rough Riders with a sharp 17-2 win on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-2 back in March.

Rylee Luna looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madyson Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Liegl, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Clark was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Clark's record now sits at 9-13. As for SA Roosevelt, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Coming up, Clark will venture away from home to square off against Reagan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rattlers' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for SA Roosevelt, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Brandeis at 7:00 p.m. The Rough Riders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
