The Christopher Cougars and the Natomas Nighthawks squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Christopher Cougars had to settle for second. They fell 65-58 to the Nighthawks. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Natomas got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dereon Jenkins out in front who scored 16 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Jenkins is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Manno Jenkins, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
Christopher's loss dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Natomas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-9 record this season.
Christopher does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Natomas, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Monterey at 7:00 p.m. Natomas is on a nine-game streak of home wins, Monterey a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
