Basketball Recap: Allie Elliott Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Taylor

Rossville was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Taylor on Saturday. The Rossville Hornets blew past the Taylor Titans 54-31. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Titans are ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rossville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allie Elliott, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds. Elliott continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Autumn Pascal, who went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points.

Rossville was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taylor only posted two assists.

Despite the loss, Taylor still got an impressive performance from Jallainah Harris, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 boards. That's the most points Harris has posted since back in November of 2024.

Rossville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Taylor, their defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rossville will venture away from home to face off against Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Taylor, they will face off against Madison-Grant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
