Volleyball Recap: Sand Creek Comes Up Short

Sand Creek lost against The Classical Academy back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Scorpions lost 3-0 to the Titans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Scorpions have suffered since September 25th.

While Sand Creek was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into The Classical Academy's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-14.

Eva Bower paced Sand Creek's offense, picking up four kills. Bower were helped by Jasyra Corpus and Taylor Gordon, who contributed four assists each. Corpus was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Sand Creek has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for The Classical Academy, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Sand Creek has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Elizabeth on the 14th. As for The Classical Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Sierra on the 14th.
