Baseball Recap: North Central Takes a Loss

North Central had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-17 to make it 11. They lost 6-0 to the Cheraw Braves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 last Monday.

As for Cheraw, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games.

For Cheraw's part, Kaden Johnson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Johnson has posted since back in April of 2024. Tyler Tolson was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cheraw beat North Central by a score of 16-2 later that day.
