Baseball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

Riverdale suffered their biggest defeat since February 28th on Thursday. They came up short against the Gulf Coast Sharks, falling 14-3. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Sharks: they've now lost five in a row.

Riverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Gulf Coast, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverdale will head out to square off against North Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gulf Coast, they will venture away from home to challenge George Jenkins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Gulf Coast 4.1, George Jenkins 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
