Oakland put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 49-0 victory over the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Patriots just coasted through the last quarter.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 25 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Craig Tutt, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

One reason for the win was Oakland's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Traivon Jackson was especially locked on to Stewarts Creek's QB and sacked him twice. Jackson has been hot recently, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last three times he's played.

Oakland's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Stewarts Creek, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Oakland will challenge rival Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Patriots 3.8, the Warriors 9.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Stewarts Creek is set to take on their familiar foe Smyrna at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
