Softball Recap: Powell Comes Up Short

Powell had taken Karns down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Powell Panthers took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Karns Beavers. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly three runs.

Madison Crawley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, six RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Lizzi Lowe was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Powell now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Karns, their record is now 4-1.

Looking ahead, Powell will be playing at home against Maryville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Maryville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Powell's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Karns, they will venture away from home to face off against Halls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Halls will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Karns surely won't give up without a fight.
