Baseball Recap: Cave Spring Takes a Loss

Salem hit Cave Spring with a six-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights came up short against the Spartans, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 back in April.

Ryan Tibey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Cave Spring's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Salem, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Cave Spring will face off against Patrick Henry at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Salem, they will square off against Blacksburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
