Softball Recap: Schenectady Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Schenectady had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Schalmont Sabres, falling 20-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Schalmont pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Schenectady will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lansingburgh at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Schalmont, they will square off against Troy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
