Baseball Game Preview: Westfield Shamrocks vs. Harrison Raiders

The Westfield Shamrocks will challenge the Harrison Raiders at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westfield is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

Westfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Avon, who was ranked 24th at the time (Westfield was ranked 14th). The Shamrocks never let the Orioles get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Thursday.

Westfield got a great performance from Jackson Blevins as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, Blevins posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Beck Jordan was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Cathedral typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Harrison proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Fighting Irish, sneaking past 5-4.

Westfield pushed their record up to 19-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Harrison, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.

Westfield beat Harrison 5-0 in their previous matchup on May 6th. Do the Shamrocks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
