Softball Recap: Lodi Victorious

Lodi put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Patterson Tigers an 11-0 shutout. The Flames might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Abby Schweigerdt, who gave up just three hits to keep Patterson off the board. Schweigerdt has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Allison Frank, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Arissa Torres was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Lodi hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Lodi's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Patterson, they moved to 4-3-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Lodi will face off against Ceres at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for Patterson, they will square off against Enochs at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday.
