Volleyball Recap: Doherty Memorial Takes a Loss

Doherty Memorial and Masconomet Regional squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Doherty Memorial had to settle for second. They came up short against the Chieftains, falling 3-0. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 25-19.

Masconomet Regional's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Draper, who had six aces and four digs. That's the most aces Draper has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Nora Sterner, who had 14 assists and two aces.

Doherty Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Masconomet Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Doherty Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Masconomet Regional, they will head out on the road to face off against Canton at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
