Basketball Game Preview: Joaquin Rams vs. Beckville Bearcats

The Joaquin Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Beckville Bearcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

Joaquin is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Waskom on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Joaquin lost 74-53 to Waskom. The Rams were down 59-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

The losing side was boosted by Conner Rios, who posted 22 points. Another player making a difference was TJ Hawkins, who put up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Beckville waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They snuck past the Tigers with a 57-51 victory.

Joaquin's defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Beckville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Joaquin, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-38 loss to Beckville in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Joaquin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
