Basketball Recap: Cecilia Tatlonghari's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Stadium over Mt. Rainier

Stadium was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mt. Rainier Rams. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 37-34 back in January.

Stadium's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cecilia Tatlonghari, who posted nine points. That's the most points Tatlonghari has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Alyx Buckner, who had nine points.

Even though they lost, Stadium was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Stadium's record now sits at 1-17. As for Mt. Rainier, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14.

Stadium and Mt. Rainier could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. Stadium (ranked 292nd) will meet Tahoma (ranked 22nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mt. Rainier will square off against Kennedy Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 199 places (262 vs. 63).
