Basketball Game Preview: Paw Paw Pirates vs. Hyndman Charter School Hornets

The Paw Paw Pirates will challenge the Hyndman Charter School Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Paw Paw lost 66-44 to Penns Manor on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pirates came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 110th in West Virginia, while the Comets are ranked 458th in Pennsylvania).

Meanwhile, Hyndman Charter School played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 67-33 defeat at the hands of Blacklick Valley. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

This is the second loss in a row for Paw Paw and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Hyndman Charter School, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Everything came up roses for Paw Paw against Hyndman Charter School when the teams last played back in February of 2023, as the team secured a 76-25 victory. In that game, Paw Paw amassed a halftime lead of 39-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
