Soccer Recap: Brainerd Comes Up Short

Brainerd entered their game against Sweetwater on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Brainerd fell 3-1 to Sweetwater. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Brainerd of the 7-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Moises Garcia, who's now up to eight this season.

Brainerd's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Sweetwater, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Brainerd take on Red Bank at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sweetwater, they will host Tyner Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
