This season hasn't been kind to IDEA Frontier College Prep, who are still winless after their seventh match. They took a serious blow against Rio Hondo on Friday, falling 66-13. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for IDEA Frontier College Prep in their matchups with Rio Hondo: they've now lost four in a row.
Rio Hondo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Atkinson, who scored 19 points. The match was Atkinson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadassah Campbell, who scored 16 points.
IDEA Frontier College Prep bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Rio Hondo, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.
IDEA Frontier College Prep will head out on the road to face off against Progreso at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rio Hondo, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against IDEA Riverview at 7:00 p.m. IDEA Riverview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1548th, while Rio Hondo is ranked 672nd).
