Who's up and who's down

In this week's postseason power rankings action, one team rose to the occasion while another fell hard. Among the action were the efforts of Norco's senior Travis Dye, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.

Can't Touch This

Norco's 56 - 34 win over Los Alamitos last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Travis Dye. Dye rushed for 331 yards and six touchdowns. That performance made Dye one of the best players in the power rankings last week.

No Stoppin 'Em

The Santa Margarita offense has been a force to be reckoned with over the past six games; unfortunately, last week Murrieta Valley reckoned with Santa Margarita just fine. Santa Margarita was close but not close enough as it fell 59 - 56 to Murrieta Valley. Santa Margarita fell despite improving upon an already solid 38-point performance the game before. At 115 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.

Look Out Below

After a challenging last week, Chaminade now finds itself down five power ranking positions. No one has a better right to be disappointed since that was the biggest drop of the week. It couldn't quite keep up with Orange Lutheran and ended up losing 28 - 25. The quarterback felt the defeat most of all -- literally. After five sacks, he is probably hoping to get a little more protection in the future.

Movin on Up

It was onward and upward for Long Beach Poly this week as the team hoisted itself up 20 places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It strolled past JSerra Catholic with points to spare, taking the game 60 - 44. One major factor in the win was the play of senior Matt Corral, who tossed the ball for 210 yards and three TDs.
