Baseball Recap: Glenbrook Victorious

On Friday, the Glenbrook Apaches beat the West Ouachita Chiefs 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Apaches.

Easton Sanders spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. Glenbrook is 2-1 when Sanders posts eight or more strikeouts, but 6-7-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jackson Waller, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in home runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Reagan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Waller wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Glenbrook lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. Glenbrook is 3-1 when they post two or more home runs.

The win got Glenbrook back to even at 8-8-1. As for West Ouachita, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Glenbrook will head out on the road to challenge St. Edmund at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Glenbrook is facing St. Edmund at the right time seeing as St. Edmund is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for West Ouachita, they will take on Holden at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
