Football Recap: Moreno Valley Sets Scoring Season-High Against Poly

Moreno Valley won the last time they faced Poly and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bears 27-24. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jennavieve Covington looked great while leading her team to the win, throwing for 217 yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 49 yards and one score. Those 217 passing yards gave her a new career-high.

Moreno Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ashley Ramirez and Olivia Toki. Moreno Valley got some further help from Amera Collins: she made six total tackles and defended six passes.

Moreno Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Poly, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
