Softball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Madonna's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Madonna unfortunately witnessed the end of their 15-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 5-1 to the Weir Red Riders. The Blue Dons were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matches prior), but the Red Riders' pitcher proved too tough.

Rylee Birkhimer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Madonna's defeat dropped their record down to 15-2. As for Weir, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Madonna will head out to take on St. Clairsville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weir, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against The Linsly School at 5:30 p.m.
