Recap: Weddington Warriors vs. Cuthbertson Cavaliers        
        
		
            
 The Weddington Warriors lost a heartbreaker to the Cuthbertson Cavaliers when they met  back in February of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again  on Friday. Weddington took a   42-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cuthbertson. Weddington has struggled against Cuthbertson recently, as their  contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
 Despite the loss, Weddington still got an impressive performance from   Bailey Page, who  scored 16 points along with seven  rebounds and two  steals. Page is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's  now  scored 16 or more in the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Natalie Poole, who  scored five points.
 Cuthbertson found their leader in underclassman  Christian Mundy, who  scored 19 points along with three  steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which  Mundy has scored at least a third of Cuthbertson's points.  Christian Johnson was another key contributor,  scoring eight points along with two  steals.
 Weddington's defeat was  their fourth straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Cuthbertson, their win  ended a seven-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 7-15.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weddington will be staying on the road  on Monday to face off against Monroe at 6:00  p.m.  on February 12th. Hopefully Monroe focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Cuthbertson, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Butler at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Cuthbertson will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Butler is ranked 102nd).
