Halifax Academy had won five straight home games and Payton Odom did her part to make it six on Tuesday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Northeast Academy Eagles with a sharp 3-0 victory thanks in part to Odom, who had eight aces and three digs. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 13 times she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Halifax Academy took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-12, 25-14.

Halifax Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Northeast Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
