Volleyball Recap: Guyer Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Guyer had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Memorial Warriors, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

While Guyer was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Memorial's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 25-16.

Memorial got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Valentina Elsen out in front who had 16 assists and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Childers, who had 19 assists and four digs.

Guyer has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Liberty on the 15th. As for Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Midlothian on the 14th.
