Baseball Recap: Providence Hall Wins Going Away Against Summit Academy

Providence Hall won the last time they faced Summit Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. Providence Hall blew past Summit Academy 11-1. Considering the Patriots have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dom Herrera and Andrew Taylor did most of the damage at the plate: Herrera scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Taylor scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Herrera has become a key player for Providence Hall: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jordan Black, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Providence Hall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Providence Hall has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. Summit Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
