Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Dacula

Dacula waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Prestonsburg Blackcats with a sharp 15-2 win. With that victory, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Cooper Stern made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Damien Washington and Terrence Watts did most of the damage at the plate: Washington went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Watts went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave Watts a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reid Dzikowski, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Dacula was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Dacula's record is now 9-14. As for Prestonsburg, they dropped their record down to 1-8-1 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Dacula will head out to challenge Central Gwinnett at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Black Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.05 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Prestonsburg, they will venture away from home to square off against Buford at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday.
