Basketball Game Preview: NELA Christian Homeschool Flame vs. Word of God Academy Force

NELA Christian Homeschool is 1-9 against Word of God Academy since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The NELA Christian Homeschool Flame will challenge the Word of God Academy Force at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, NELA Christian Homeschool was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-42 to John Paul the Great Academy. The Flame have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Word of God Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 43-29 bruising from Marshall Christian Academy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Force came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 175th in Louisiana, while the Guardians are ranked 1087th in Texas).

NELA Christian Homeschool's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Word of God Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4.

NELA Christian Homeschool came up short against Word of God Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 61-54. Can NELA Christian Homeschool avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
