Baseball Recap: Lindsay Comes Up Short

Lindsay and Mendota squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lindsay had to settle for second. They came up short against the Aztecs, falling 13-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 22-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2022.

Nate Lopez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Lindsay's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 8-11-1 when he doesn't).

The loss snapped Lindsay's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-12-1 record. As for Mendota, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Lindsay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mendota, they have already played their next game, an 18-5 win against Fresno Christian on the 23rd.
