Baseball Recap: Creekside Comes Up Short

Creekside and Flagler Palm Coast squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Creekside had to settle for second. They fell 9-4 to the Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Creekside got a good showing from Nicholas Romeu, who struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits Romeu has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Creekside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Balazic, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Creekside has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Flagler Palm Coast, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-16.

Creekside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Flagler Palm Coast, they will head out to face off against Atlantic Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
