Volleyball Recap: Taliana Tozzi's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sandy Valley over Strasburg-Franklin

It was a proper cat-fight when Sandy Valley faced off against Strasburg-Franklin on Tuesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

While Sandy Valley ultimately came up short, they really made Strasburg-Franklin work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-9, 18-25, 9-25, 15-6.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taliana Tozzi, who had 16 digs and 12 kills. The team also got some help courtesy of Landry Little, who had 40 assists and three digs.

Sandy Valley now has a losing record of 1-2.

Sandy Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Tuscarawas Central Catholic on the 20th. As for Strasburg-Franklin, they will head out to take on Garaway at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
