Volleyball Recap: Oxford Falls Despite Big Games from Gianna Teixeira and Vangie Magera + How To Watch

If Oxford was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Ansonia on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines fell just short of the Pomperaug Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Oxford took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 17-25, 22-25, 25-20, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Oxford had strong showings from Vangie Magera, who had 23 digs and three assists, and Gianna Teixeira, who had 11 digs. Magera is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 19 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Oxford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Pomperaug, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
