West Cabarrus took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans by a score of 28-21. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolverines as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

West Cabarrus found their leader in underclassman Jared Street, who threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 39 yards. Cesidio Castricone was Street's top target, picking up 43 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also punching in a rushing score.

West Cabarrus will face off against Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on A.L. Brown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
