Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boone County). They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Ludlow Panthers on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rebels as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Boone County got a big performance out of Ethan Rossi, who went 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Rossi a new career-high. Trent Wilson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
Boone County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Boone County's win bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Ludlow, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
