Volleyball Recap: Wilbur Cross Takes a Loss

Wilbur Cross lost against Shelton back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Governors lost 3-0 to the Gaels. The Governors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-10, 25-17.

Shelton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nicole Zotova led the charge by getting 18 digs and four aces. Zotova has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more digs the last four times she's played. Jesseca Zotova was another key player, getting five aces and four digs.

Wilbur Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Shelton, their record now sits at 10-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wilbur Cross will take on rival Cheshire at 6:00 p.m. on the 17th. Meanwhile, Shelton is set to square off against their familiar foe Sacred Heart Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 17th.
